Framework for Responsible Sharing of Genomic and Health-related Data

[gdlr_text_align class=”justify”]In its aim to standardize genomic data management practices, the Global Alliance for Genomic Health recently launched Draft 7 of the Framework for Responsible Sharing of Genomic and Health-Related Data. The document, developed by the Regulatory and Ethics Working Group of GA4GH, highlights the Purpose of the alliance, its Foundational Principles and the Core Elements involved in Responsible data sharing of clinical and genomic data. The draft is currently open for comments and discussions among the scientific community.

Biomedical research today faces many challenges due to the unstructured collection and interpretation of data. The lack of scalability and standardized norms in genomic and clinical data collection has limited our access to its scientific and social benefit. As a member of the Global Alliance for Genomic Health, AstridBio aims to assist the framework in building a practical constitution that direct the responsible sharing of clinical and genomic data. We aim to generate a network of active data sharing through international collaboration and good leadership governed by the GA4GH.
