According to the original plans, AstridBio Ltd and partner TS Labor Ltd. developed a photorefraction-based glycan analysis procedure and product, which is suitable for determining the glycosylation pattern of both total and fractionated serum. The reagents and tools are sufficiently sensitive and accurate for detecting protein glycosylation. These reagents may be helpful in a variety of glycan analysis-based development processes, such as biomarker identification; biological materials in quality control; the description and monitoring of stem cells; and the diagnostics and therapies of metabolic, immune, or cancer diseases. The consortium has developed a unique technique (capable of determining the glycosylation pattern of a focused or entire protein population from biological samples) and a kit containing the reagents required for the method.
